Housing Ombudsman publishes severe maladministration finding for Stafford & Rural Homes

The Housing Ombudsman has published a severe maladministration finding for Stafford & Rural Homes, due to unacceptable delays in dealing with the resident’s complaint about delayed repairs and a bedbug infestation.

The Ombudsman’s investigation found:

  • severe maladministration for Stafford & Rural’s complaint handling and
  • maladministration for its response to reports of repairs and an infestation.

The association was ordered to pay compensation of £1,000, and (if not already done) to contact the resident to arrange for a date for the infestation fumigation works it agreed to do and carry out the repairs it is responsible for.
