The Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (LUHC) says that amendments to the Social Housing Regulation Bill will strengthen the powers of the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). The amendments made during the Report Stage of the Bill’s passage through the House of Lords will require:
- Registered providers to ensure that all of their staff have the right skills, experience and knowledge to deliver a high-quality service for residents, with the requirement to be set out in a new Regulatory Standard and
- The RSH to publish a plan on its commitment to regularly inspect the largest registered providers, including details on how often inspections will happen.
