Regulator of Social Housing places Tower Hamlets Community Housing on its Gradings Under Review list

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has placed Tower Hamlets Community Housing (THCH) on its Gradings Under Review (GUR) list. As at 31 March 2022, THCH had 3,192 homes in management.

The RSH is investigating matters which may impact on THCH’s compliance with the Governance and Financial Viability Standard. In its most recent Regulatory Judgement (RJ) published in November 2021, THCH was graded G1 for Governance and V2 for Viability. The V2 judgement reflects increased costs in delivering fire safety work on THCH’s high-rise buildings, which significantly reduces its ability to manage adverse scenarios.

The RSH endeavours to publish a narrative RJ or Regulatory Notice (RN) within six to eight weeks of a provider being placed on the GUR list, if it determines that the provider is non-compliant with the Governance and Financial Viability Standard.

All of the RJs, Regulatory Notices and GUR listings published by the RSH can be viewed on the RSH’s website here.
