In the week commencing Monday 26 August 2024, the Housing Ombudsman published an independent review by Peabody into repairs and decants. The review which was ordered by the Ombudsman, and makes 31 recommendations for the landlord to improve services, follows an investigation by the Ombudsman into a resident’s complaint where her family were placed in hotel rooms for a year and a half. The review identified 180 other residents decanted since February 2021 for damp and mould, six of whom were decanted for more than 300 days.
