One of our clients, a housing association, asked YDC for help to strengthen several aspects of its financial governance.

The organisation did not have much in the way of formal documentation in relation to its financial policies and procedures, so we worked with the senior management team to produce Financial Regulations and a Scheme of Financial Delegations.

Our client also had no regular arrangements in place for financial planning or reporting financial performance.  Working with the Chief Executive, we proposed a standard format and content for the presentation of the business plan and quarterly management accounts to the Board.  As part of the work on business planning and the management accounts, we identified a suite of key financial indicators and financial golden rules, to help the organisation to forecast and monitor its financial performance.

In addition, our client’s Chief Executive asked us to assist with the recruitment of a new Finance Director and following that appointment, we supported the Finance Director to recruit a Finance Manager.
