The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) has launched its Commission on Health and Prosperity.
The IPPR says that so far, the Covid-19 pandemic has cost 180,000 lives across the UK with millions continuing to experience ongoing disruption to their lives. In 2020, Covid-19 also caused the largest fall in economic growth in over 300 years.
New analysis by the IPPR has identified links between health and regional inequality, productivity and poverty. The IPPR is launching the Commission on Health and Prosperity to explore its fundamental hypothesis, “that a fairer country is a healthier one, and that a healthier country is a more prosperous one”.
